It's one of those magical times where I post a bunch of unknown music! WHOO! Lately I've been really into Coldplay. . . what am I saying, I've always been into Coldplay! But there's a few songs that have been really tickling my fancy. First up, Warning Sign! Now here's Gravity. (Guess who has two thumbs and knows how to play this on the piano? THIS GURRRRL!) Now for some upbeat stuff! A Sky Full of Stars! Another band that I love is OneRepublic! Their fairly new song Love Runs Out is, like, my baby. The end is my favorite part. Haha, speaking of OneRepublic, here's Burning Bridges. 6 minutes of ear candy! Here's Selection by The Noisy Freaks! I guess all ear candy is in 6 minutes. Here's Odyssey by Dream Koala! Well, that was about a half hour of music to keep you going. I would've added more, but whatev! Until next time!

So last year I did 2012 Song of the Year. And you know whenever you do ___ of the ___, you're gonna have to keep on the tradition. Like, did any songs have an impact on me emotionally? Pfft, no! Maybe. Yes. So does that mean the one with the most "oh em gee"s is awarded 2013 Song of the Year? Year? Year? Year? Year? Year? Year? Got a bit carried away with that, hmm? And the answer is not necessarily. Cuz' I looked in the Oh Em Gee tag, and the songs that I thought were good nominees just weren't there. Ooh. Nominees. Maybe laying it out will help me decide. The first music post of 2013 was Perfection and Pirates, and I really loved Perfection by Oh Land. Her outfit's a bit crazy in the video, but when did that matter? This live performance was so elaborate with the orchestra and choir. Aweeesomee! Oh, Goosebumps. You bring back memories. Finale by Madeon (still have no idea how to pronounce that) was an awesome song. If I worked out, I would work out to this song. Instead I imagine dramatic stories that would have this in the background. Or mouth it in the mirror. Either way, I like it a lot! There were a lot of songs in the post Ninja + Others, but Time by Hans Zimmer simply was the best. I love soundtracks, and I can only think back to last year, where a soundtrack title was the song of the year! Will this take the cake, hmmm?? Now for a rockin' tune. Hott was a post with the glorious song, Inside a Boy by My Brightest Diamond. Now I'm quoting here: "The intro was just really cool and beautiful and then BOOM! Enter the drums and guitar." And also: "I've been having this on repeat for twelve thousand years, give or take some." Enough said. Updates + Music + Other Stuff was a lovely post. Not only did it have the AWESOME Touch by Daft Punk feat. Paul Williams, it has a Wordle! I will do a Wordle to wrap up the year. I will. *And I swe-e-ear. . .* Dead Hearts. Dear, oh, dear. You know how children go through phases in their lives? The "lol, random" phase? The "scene" phase? Possibly the "emo" phase? I'm convinced I had my own Dead Hearts by Stars phase. I just ah-dored that song, ah-dored it so much it's almost embarrassing. The lyrics meant something more than spooky ghosts! I think any angsty story deserves this song in the background. Nominee fo sho. More angst! Yaayyy! I won't be talking about "get up, get up, get out of my head!!!", no sirree. Get Up had a song with the same title, by Barcelona. Um, yes! I liked the harmonies, like I do in every song that has harmonies. Geeeeeeett, uuuuppppppp. . . Music Time for the Millionth Time was an amazing post. It had a lot of great songs that no one really knew about :) It had Starman by the City of Prague Philharmonic. In case you didn't know, this was sampled to create Dan Black's Symphonies! Oh and what's this? Two nominees in one post??! Yep, Music Time for the Millionth Time also had Mosquito by Ingrid Michaelson. Beautiful. That's all you can really say about this song. Definitely deserves a spot on the nominee list! So that was 9 nominees! Oh gawd, hard decisions make sudden regrets. . . Let's twist this into, like, an American Idol result show. The votes are in, and everyone is just dying to hear the results! Perfection, Time, Inside a Boy, Dead Hearts, and Starman: You are all safe! Now the song with the most votes issss: *awkward silence* Inside a Boy by My Brightest Diamond! *wild applause* Okay, here's why I chose this song. Like any other super long post I do, I got a bit tired thinking of stuff near the end. The soundtracks? Great. Eleborate orchestras? Awesome. Dead Hearts? Lovely. But as I went through and listened to all of these songs, they seemed played out. Yes, they brought back memories, but the one song that I still loved as much as I did when I first heard it? Inside a Boy. And if a song can do that, it deserves to be recognized. I'm sure noneofya guessed that, huh?! And to wrap up 2013, let's make a beautiful Wordle. I don't know about you, but I think it's perfect. I love how near the middle, going down it says "Maybe want year back". Color schemes, man!!!
I love you guys. According to my stats, there's almost 350 of you guys visiting my website, and it may even be more. It's unbelievable. My request for you this new year for this site? Start commenting! Tell me about yourself because 350 people are bound to have some different stories to share, and I'd love to hear them! 2014, peeps. Some crazy crap will ensue! Now small round green vegetables! Sweater Weather is a weird name for a song, but is nevertheless still a good song by The Neighbourhood. And my friend said all love songs are slow! Pfffft. Speaking of friends, my bestie Kristen is starting her own website! She hasn't done much on there yet, so go visit now and brag to your hipster friends about how you "found it before it went mainstream". And go there before she might change the name of the site!! I urged her to name it weebly.weebly.com, but she didn't take the offer! If I ever make a second site, I'll name it that. Halloween is coming up 7 Thursdays from now, and I'm not really sure what I want to be/who I'm trick-or-treating with. And I will get my candy, one way or another! I was thinking some sort of doll. I want to do something with makeup, not to feel pretty or whatever, but to look innocent AND freak people out. I really wanna try a cracked porcelain doll look, but chances are my school won't allow huge amounts of makeup, which is exactly what I'm going for. Or a Barbie doll, but that's so BORRRRINGGGG. I don't think I've ever dressed up creepy or scary. It's all fun and games, but I want to hiss at people even with a cute costume. It'd be even better if it was homemade. But alas, I can't even make homemade cookies without box recipes. I dunno, I just want my costume to be more than a dress. Cuz' that's basically all of the Party City catalog. Dresses, corsets, and weird Morph-Suits. Comment your Halloween costume, maybe we could be Halloween twinsies! Small round green vegetables!
It's the last day of summer! I don't know exactly what I feel, but Bloo, Stephen Colbert, and Smosh sets the mood pretty well. It's weird how much I'm dreading the first day of school when just a few months ago I was like, Summer was fun, agreed? Except the random flood that popped up in the street today. Literally, my parents and I are in the van to go out one last time, and then there's all these random people watching a big, dirty river going down the street. This is the only photo I got. . . Can you believe the weirdness of this situation? It's summertime in the desert, and not only is it raining and flooding the day before the first day of school, it's raining and flooding on the street I go wait for the bus. Well, I'm relistening to all of the summer tunes of this blog, starting from Bittersweet Summer on June 5. Yes, now it's definitely bittersweet, but now for the opposite reason: I'm sad it has to end, but I miss my friends! (But I'm actually more introverted than you think. . .) To end this post (and the summer D: !!) here are a few songs. First, I literally just discovered this mashup of two Florence + The Machine songs, Shake it Out and Cosmic Love. (Clicking below will take you to a Tumblr page!) Next, one of Miley Cyrus's new songs (dat gurl is craaaayy), Wrecking Ball. This next song is by a popular artist/actress/whatever in the Philippines, Sarah Geronimo. It's called Sweetest Mistake. I actually was among the first to hear this live! I saw her show while I was in the Philippines, at the Trinoma Mall. I was in the crowd listening to this. Can you believe it??! Well, that was fun, right? Spongebob and I will go freak out about tomorrow now. . .
MyMusic on August 20th, Good Mythical Morning on September 3rd, Legend of Korra on September 13th (Friday the 13th!) Look at all that stuff for me to look forward to! :D Moving on. . . I love me some conflict. The tragedy. The ANGST. And I think it shows up in the type of music that I post on this site. So now let's listen to some of the happier/funnier songs I love! Yayy! First, a new one by Katy Perry, Roar! I'm probably gonna get sick of this song once I hear it play everyday on the school bus, but it's nice for now! Who doesn't love Tobuscus? Here's a song by him. Show it to your foreign grandma. A great song by Matt Hires, Restless Heart, is next up! It was actually free on iTunes once, so I was able to get it! It reminds of me of Mumfords & Sons, actually. Another once free iTunes song, Little Numbers by BOY! You got it, free iTunes. MUST BE FREE. If you want this song, buy the album! There's actually a lot more happy songs that I like, but I think this is happy enough, right? . . .No? Fine, have some song titles.
Brave by Sara Bareilles Beneath Your Beautiful by Labrinth Riviera Life by Caro Emerald Almost Home by Mariah Carey It's a Beautiful Day by Michael Buble Stars (Hold On) by Youngblood Hawke We Come Running by Youngblood Hawke Okay, that's far too much happy. See ya! Recently, I was on vacation at the Philippines. And it's pretty different. Different in a boss-like way! (And yes, I know I'm generalizing here a bit.) So here's The night we came, the first thing I noticed was 1. The Rain.I wouldn't know much about rain, since I live in Nevada, but the little we have isn't as strong as the rain there. There's rain and lighting surging on like nobody's business, but the weirdest part is that it will seem perfectly fine right after. Like it will go on for a few minutes or so and then all of a sudden it's done. It's really strange. I was a bit surprised since people were basically driving around in small rivers, but I got used to it afterwards. 2. The Roads. The first few seconds I got into a van, I thought I was gonna die. At first I thought, Dude, sloooow down! You're not in a James Bond movie!! But later I realized, if you don't drive fast, you'll be left behind in the traffic. The people even weave through the cars with motorcycles and jeepneys and tricycles and it's just crazy! 3. The Animals. Not only are there a lot of stray cats and dogs everywhere, but there's cows, goats, and caribou. Except they pronounce it care-ih-bow. The thing about these animals is that they live independently. Sure, I spoiled that cat that came in the yard during the day that my cousin named Tamara, but that would be the only exception. 4. The Parking.Paying for parking lots isn't the most boss-like thing ever, but if you're in a mall or something, there's some fancy magic going around in those parking lots. There's probably something like this in the U.S., but nowhere here. Basically there's a light above each parking slot and it's green when it empty and red when it's taken. Sometimes people park too far away from the light so you think there's an empty slot and then there isn't, but I don't ever think there was a time where we couldn't find a place to park. 5. The Food.My mom and I are always on the lookout for restaurants here that aren't McDonalds, Jack in the Box, Taco Bell, etc etc etc. Yet we never really find something that's good nor cheap. There are so many places to eat in the Philippines though, oh em gee!! You have not LIVED if you have not tried J.Co Coffee and Donuts! The saying was right, you gotta get your hands dirty to have fun! I mean, that is the saying, right? Something like that? 6. The Shopping.I'm not a huge shopper, but there's so much to look at over there! I've seen people make the stuff they sell, and it's impressive and cool. They really go to extremes to make people buy their stuff. It's "Hello Ma'am, Sir, please choose something!" There are people selling food in the streets too! 7. The People. They're smart, they're brave, and sometimes they're absolutely crazy. Families care about one another because sometimes it's all they've got. Filipinos, I feel, are like the director's cut of Americans. They have the exact same feelings, except Filipinos do something about it. And that makes them different!
Really, how do you survive awkward situations? I encounter way too many awkward moments for my well-being. Anyway, click this. Click me. Click it now or forever hold your peace. Do you see any song that you recognize? No? That's cuz' it's not often I absolutely ah-dore a radio song, or the radio in general. (As my brother states it, they "play the same five songs".) But sometimes songs on the radio score! And I don't mind that much when I hear them in the car or on the school bus the third time that day. Here are those songs! Heart Attack vs. I Knew You Were Trouble by Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift Click here to listen to lellolamb's mashup. I honestly love Demi Lovato way more than Taylor Swift (ever since the Disney days, plus she has an amazing story), but I really like this mashup! I approve of this not one, but TWO radio songs! Mirrors by Justin Timberlake Is it me, or does every picture of him looks like he's pained? I, however, was not pained to listen to this song. It was lovely. On to Farewell by Rihanna OH EM GEE, I JUST REALIZED THIS WOULD BE THE PERFECT END-OF-SCHOOL SONG. *ugly cry face* Yeah, yeah, I don't care if you never heard this song on the radio, 'cuz I have! (At least twice, heh heh) Rule the World by Take That Calm yourselves, Americans, 'cuz this song is for the people "across the pond"! Yeah, it's not popular where I am, but I'm sure it was a total hit in England. Probably. I didn't do much research on it. Now on to another topic!
Shippy shippy shippy, talking about shipping. . . Have you guys ever seen people reading, reenacting or even mentioning fanfics about themselves? It is most hilarious thing you have ever witnessed, bar none. It's completely impossible to not smile while watching two people read about themselves in a fanfic. I would show you guys some examples, but they're far too cringe-worthy/disturbing. But also very hilarious. Very very hilarious. Now I'm off to RAD for some more music-related stuff! As Rihanna says, "Fareweeeeeelllll!" And as always, small round green vegetables! Yeppity yep, TODAY is our site's birthday! And to celebrate, we're taking a visit to what this site used to be.
Now you're just somebody that I used to knoowww. . . So click Read More, and enjoy a nice song at the end! Wordle. Wordle wordle. Wordle sounds like some weird Pokemon. Anyway, I made a Wordle out of THIS BLOG! Oh em gee, this is so funny! I see lyrics from this post and stuff like "Shhh" and "GOOSEBUMPS" and "alllllllright" and "then--POOF" and "arggg" and "reeeaaaally" and then I see some parts of "small round green vegetables" in there and some aggressive capital letters in there like "HALF" or "CLOSE" or "SCHOOL" or "ONE" and it's just. . . "just". Hahahaha, "just"!!! I'm thinking for the homepage header change on Sunday, I'll make a Wordle or a collage or something like that. . . I really don't know. Actually, maybe, I know. . . But it'll be hard to pull off. . . Don't mind me, just thinking out loud again. Anyway, as I was going through websites over at the Sister Sites page (btw, it looks fab!), I checked Courtney's ol' site, www.nerdychic.weebly.com. I was surprised to read this: I love the idea, but I dunno, that was posted almost 7 months ago. . . And I feel bad that I just noticed this. I wish the comments were open so I could say, "Hi! I'm actually here!!!" Maybe a site isn't really coming, but you know, there's always a little hope. Right now nerdychic's off the sister sites page, but hey, if she comes back, I'll be thrilled to put her back! Anyway, my brother got Daft Punk's new album, and I love this song. I don't care much for the first minute and 50 seconds, but I love the stuff that follows! (I wondered when was the last time I mentioned my brother on this site and it was around this time last year. Haha, for one year my brother vanished.)
Oof, now I'm excited for the header image. Perfecto! But it's gonna be difficult. . . Lemme tell you this, it'll be my first summer project that I'm excited for. Peasssss! |
